totem acier bronze

Are we to believe everything   Michel Rozier's totems tell us ?

Are we to regard his figures in the same way they seem to look at us ?

Are we spirited away by the magic of his tribus ?

By raising so many questions, Michel Rozier's   figures ,   totems and tribus create as many invitations to discover them. With his sculptures, Michel Rozier evokes the magical function of a work of art which lies in the vital fusion of the essence of inspiration with the alchemy of fire and metals.

When working on a series of Neolithic inspiration using largely copper, I have tried to understand and reinstate the spirituality and the mystic of our ancestors : after stone and probably at the same time as gold, it is the first metal which was used, therefore, logical following in a technique called primitive, I am now working with bronze.

My totems are a homage to our ancestors of the Neolithic, those who lived in the age of the last hunters/gatherers and of the very first sedentary groups, those who,   in my eyes, represent the apogee of humanity, when man lived in total osmosis with his surroundings.

These totems may have existed... may have disappeared... or, perhaps, they have not been discovered yet...

Through this initiatory route using ancestral experience, Michel Rozier draws all his strength and offers us much more than a story of the past, much more than roots : a testimony and a testament which reflect his   intense love   for art and for humanity.
